Job Description

 

We are seeking an independent investment banking business development professional with the title of Senior Vice President / Director (depending on background and experience) with investment banking or financial advisory experience in various industries. The ideal candidate will have a transportable book of business derived from the United States and be experience in originating sell side / buy side M&A assignments, private placements and fairness opinions. The ideal candidate will be team oriented, motivated and long-term focused.

 

Successful candidates must be licensed Series 7 and 63 (preferably Series 24 as well), sales oriented, have strategic thinking abilities, credibility, high ethical standards and motivated to build and expand financial advisory practice (M&A, and private placement and valuation). Proven track record of generating revenue in a middle market investment bank or previous IB experience and current C level relationships. Must have the ability to operate independently in an entrepreneurial, teamwork oriented platform.

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related course of study.

  • Series 7 and 63 required, Series 24 preferred.

  • At least 8 years of experience in finance/accounting with 5+ years of experience in business development in Mergers & Acquisitions, Investment Banking or business valuation.  

  • Proven business development, sales and organizational skills with strong verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand impact of verbal and non-verbal communication when meeting with      prospective businesses.

  • Excellent judgment and diplomacy skills in order to manage highly sensitive and confidential information. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence without direct authority.

  • Exceptional executive-level presentation skills and the demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with the Company’s overall strategy.

  • Analyze and understand customer’s business strategy, future product plans and expansion of activities.

  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully influence senior level management and executives.

  • Manage contract negotiation and work with management as required.

  • Act as a point of contact between the business and its clients as necessary.

  • Coordinate with the client and the Company operations to determine data requirements, production schedule      and deliverables as necessary.

  • Comply with FINRA regulation.
